Chidi Lloyd Discharged And Acquitted Of Murder

Majority Leader of the Rivers House of Assembly, Mr. Chidi Lloyd has been discharged and acquitted this morning by a High Court in Port Harcourt after been charged of attempted murder.

Mr Lloyd was alleged to have hit one Mr Michael Chinda on the head with a mace during a fight between supportersof Governor Ameachi and some legislators in 2013 and was arrested and charged for attempted murder.

While delivering the judgement, the judge said, there was nothing the court could do in the matter as the police was not willing to prosecute the case further, so he was discharged and acquitted.

Minister Apologises To Nigerians Over NIS Death

The Minister of the Interior, Mr Abba Moro today apologised to Nigerians over the death of 16 young Nigerians at the just concluded NIS recruitment exercise. Mr Moro who appeared before the Senate Committee on Interior said,

“Mr Chairman and Distinguished Senators, we are deeply grieved and saddened about the way events turned out. We express our sincere regrets once again.

“However, permit me to state that our patriotic desire was the pursuit of a more honest, a more transparent, a more cost effective, a more efficient and equitable platform.

The rapper few days ago announced in a press briefing with journalists that he will be going back to school in 2015. He said he dropped out of school to pursue his musical career, but will be returning next year.

“I dropped out of school for music but I intend going back. I will be doing a professional course in South Africa to study Music Business and I’m certain about it. Hopefully in 2015,” he said.

Senate confirms Emefiele as new Central Bank Governor

The Senate this morning confirmed the appointment of Mr Godwin Emefiele as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Emefiele was the Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank before his new appointment. He replaces Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who was suspended by the Federal Government on February 20th over allegations of financial recklessness and misconduct.

'Madman' caught with human tongue, weapons in Ibadan

A man feigning to be mad was apprehended yesterday along Ring Road in Ibadan town by residents of the area who found human tongue and dangerous weapons on him.

Vanguard reports that his evil act was exposed when his hidden blackberry phone suddenly rang in public which aroused suspicion. He was immediately surrounded and searched. They allegedly found the human tongue, a cutlass and axe on him. The mob that gathered had attempted to carry out jungle justice on him but for the timely intervention of the police, who took him away.

This incident comes barely four days after the Ibadan house of horror was discovered.

Policeman kills self, wife, 5 others over marital dispute in Abeokuta

A police officer in Ogun State today Thursday march 27th shot and killed seven people including his own wife, a 2 year old, and himself, Premium Times reports. The full report below...

Police Corporal Sunkanmi Ogunbiyi, attached to State Criminal Investigation Department of the Ogun State Police Command, went berserk on Thursday morning in Abeokuta.
The rampaging policeman was said to be having matrimonial problems with Oluwatosin, his wife, who is also a police corporal attached to Obantoko police station in Abeokuta, the Ogun capital.

According to neighbours, following a quarrel between the couple, Oluwatosin moved, alongside their two children, to the house of a neighbour, their landlady.

Actress Nuella Njubigbo will wed long time love, Nollywood producer/director Tchidi Chikere this weekend in her hometown in Anambra state and this is authoritative.

The couple who have been dating before Tchidi divorced his actress wife and mother of his 3 children Sophia Chikere, moved in together at Graceland Estate in Ajah last year.

A Federal High court this morning nullified collection of toll on the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge after a human rights lawyer, Ebun Adegboruwa, filed a lawsuit. But despite that ruling, the Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye says toll collection on the bridge will continue.

The State Attorney General said this today a few hours after the Federal High court rulling

"The judgment read this morning did not specifically address many of the questions raised by the applicant, neither did it grant any of the declarations sought. So the road users will continue to pay. All the same, we are not ruling out any kind of interpretation”. Aside from the failure of the court to make any consequential order or declaration, the judgment contains at least two or three fundamental errors. And one of the errors is the assumption that the Private Public Partnerships Law of Lagos State, which we cited in support of toll collection, did not apply, simply because the bridge was not constructed by public-private partnership”. MEET Ibadan Prophet Who Has Not Had His Bath & Had Sex In 13 Years

After reading the headline, I know some of you will say the prophet must be smelling badly by now, but the truth is Prophet Wale Olagunji who heads Divine Seed of God Chapel Ministry in Ibadan, Oyo State does not smell and in fact moves about doing his daily activities and even looks neater than some people who takes their bath every day. The prophet said God spoke to him in year 2000 that he should stop taking his bath and separate himself from his wife and till now he has been doing that. CP: Some years back, you came out that God instructed you to stop having your bath, is it true. And are you still on it?

Prophet: Yes, it is 13years now to be precise. Early 200 the Lord told me to stop taking my bath, separate myself from my wife and that I should stop taking all those soft drinks and wines. And since then, diligently, I have observed all those things.

Whoever God wants to use for certain purposes on earth, there is a serious price attached to that calling. So I believe that is the price I am paying. As I am talking to you now, I have not taking my bath, if you want me to show you evidence, I will show you if you doubt all I am saying; I have not taking my bath since 2001 till this moment.

Phyno & Olamide For Star Music Trek

It’s obvious these two have a special bond and Badoo obviously hasn't forgotten the days when nobody wanted to feature him or feature with him, when few artistes like popular eccentric rapper Phyno had his back.

Although the dynamic duo have earlier collaborated on hit tracks such as Ghost mode and Dope money, they are rumoured to be working together on the first ever collaborative rap album, ‘2 Kings’. However, both performers have not officially indicated when if this will happen any time soon.

Fast forward March 29th 2014 both artistes will storm the Star Music Trek stage in Nsukka for the first leg of The Trek 2014 touring all over Nigeria.

Fingers crossed, that collabo just might come in earlier than expected!

Court Declares FRSC’s New Number Plates Illegal

Federal Road Safety Commission’s threat to impound vehicles come October 1 might not just happen any more, after a Federal High Court in Lagos this morning declared the new number plates illegal, saying it’s unconstitutional.

The judge said; that it was unlawful for the commission to impose the new number plates on Nigerians, where no existing law permitted it.

The suit was filed by Emmanuel Ofoegbu, a lawyer, against FRSC after they insisted every Nigerian must get the plate number, or have their vehicles impounded as from the 1st of October, 2014.

Video: Deadly Ebola Virus is Spreading Fast in Guinea

UNICEF has announced that an Ebola Outbreak has killed at least 59 People in Guinea.

The epidemic has hit the capital city Conakry. “At least 59 out of 80 who contracted Ebola across the West African country have died so far” said UNICEF in a statement to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Ebola is spreading FAST to other West African countries.

There are currently no known treatments or vaccines for Ebola, a viral hemorrhagic fever that kills up to 90 percent of those who become infected. The virus spread through direct contact with blood, faeces or sweat, sexual contact and unprotected handing of contaminated corpses.

“This outbreak is particularly devastating because medical staff are among the first victims … hindering the response and threatening normal care in a country already lacking in medical personnel,” revealed UNICEF.

Prophet T.B. Joshua has countered insinuations that he is fighting with Christ Embassy Pastor Chris Oyakhilome over a session of questions that saw the respected ministers of God produce different answers.

You recall the two men of God had given different answers to the question 'If Abortion after rape was a sin'. Then again, when TB Joshua was asked if masturbation was a sin, he had said yes, that it was even as bad as fornication. A question to which Pastor Chris had replied saying masturbation wasn't a sin, sparking another huge online criticism of both pastors' teachings.

Reacting to the difference in their replies and evidently showing his support for Oyakhilome, Joshua wrote

The husband of one of those who didn’t make it alive back home at the just held NIS recruitment exercise in Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City has asked the Government to please provide a job for him to be able to look after the three children the deceased has now left alone in his care.

According to Mr Amun, he and his late wife woke up very early that day to be able to get to the venue on time. After they had queued for a while, he became tensed and almost couldn't breathe and asked his wife to let them go home, but she told him to look for a seat outside the stadium and relax while she remains on the queue.

While outside the stadium, his wife’s brother (who also came for the same exercise) ran into him and asked after his sister, and he told him she was on the queue.

Multiple talented music producer Cobhams Asuquo in an interview with Punch yesterday said he wouldn't change anything about his life because he has an amazing life. When asked if he thought he would have been a bigger brand than he is today if perhaps he had the gift of sight, Cobhams said:

"I don’t know to be quite honest. That would involve turning back the hands of time. I have met some amazing people in life and I think so far, I have lived a glorious life and I continue to live an amazing life. I am not sure I want to turn back the hands of time for anything, not even for the gift of sight" he said

Primate Ayodele's prophecies for D'banj, Davido, Okonjo-Iweala

Why are all these prophets now prophesying about celebs? I thought it was government officials and situations in the country? Anyway, Primate Ayodele, the head of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, (pictured right) whose predictions are said to always come to past, recently shared his prophecies for 2014 and mentioned Davido and D'banj.

About Davido, he said the singer needs to be a bit more careful and increase security around himself and his crew as a kidnap attempt is in the offing. Once again, we forbid this.

About D'banj, the prophet said he needs to be very careful or he would be defrauded over a foreign business deal.

About the Finance Minister & coordinating Minister for the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Primate Ayodele said she might bow out of office before the end of this administration.

No FG directive to return applicants’ money - Immigration Service

The Nigerian Immigration Service collected N1,000 application fee from almost 700,000 applicants who participated in the recently disastrous employment test that claimed more than 15 lives. There were reports recently that the federal government had directed the NIS to refund the money but according to new reports, no such directive has been given by the government despite the fact that the recruitment exercise was cancelled.

The Public Relations Officer of the NIS and a rep of the Minister of Interior said that they are yet to receive any directive to refund the money.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress have called on the Federal Government to refund the money to the applicants.

Graphic pics: human skeletons discovered in an abandoned building in Oyo

Human skeletons, body parts, decomposing bodies, skulls and bones on bloodstained floors were discovered at an abandoned building in Soka, Oluyole LGA of Oyo State yesterday March 22nd. The bodies are believed to be unfortunate victims of ritual killing. Police officers also rescued about seven people who were chained together in leg-irons and looked emaciated. (The old woman pictured above was one of those rescued yesterday).

Containers containing human parts were also discovered in the bush surrounding the building. It is believed that people go to the place in the dead of the night to buy human parts.

The abandoned house of horror was discovered after Okadamen in Ibadan discovered that some of their colleagues had gone missing...especially when they took passengers to that area. They decided to search the area and discovered skeletal remains...

The police said they have arrested a few people over the discovery and plan to 'investigate the crime in all its ramifications'. Continue to see very graphic pics from the House of Horror...

Pres. Obama makes Malaysian plane search top priority

President Barack Obama said Wednesday the search for the missing Malaysian airliner was a “top priority” for the United States and offered every possible resource — including the FBI.

In his first on camera comments on the mystery of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, Obama offered thoughts and prayers to the relatives of the missing passengers.

“I want them to be assured that we consider this a top priority,” Obama told Dallas television station KDFW in an interview at the White House.

“We have put every resource that we have available at the disposal of the search process,” he said.

“There has been close cooperation with the Malaysian government.”

Obama said the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National Transportation Safety Board and any agency or official that deals with aviation was at the disposal of the investigation.

Pres. Jonathan nominates Zainab Bulkachuwa as Court of Appeal President

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday nominated Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa to become the President of the Second Highest Court in Nigeria, the Appeal Court. The President sent her name to the senate for ratification, after which she would be confirmed and sworn-in.

Justice Bulkachuwa prior to this nomination has been serving in acting capacity as the president of the court since November 2012 when Justice Dalhatu Adamu retired from Office.

How Nigerian undergraduate was killed in Ghana over money

On February 19th, the body of a Nigerian student studying in Ghana was found. (Read here). Godwin Awogbo (pictured above), a 300level student of Social Sciences at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana was killed by unknown person/s and his body dumped by the roadside. A bank worker who married to conceal his homosexuality strangled his wife a few months later with a metal vacuum pipe, a court heard yesterday.
Jasvir Ram Ginday throttled Varkha Rani and tried to destroy her remains in an incinerator after going through with the arranged marriage to please his parents.
The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in India last March – even though Ginday, 30, had confided in a friend years earlier that he was attracted to men, the jury were told. Continue...

An accident involving three vehicles, one carry 19 Redeemed church members, occurred on Monday along the Potiskum-Maiduguri highway leaving all the Redeemed church members burnt beyond recognition and 16 others dead.

Confirming the accident, the Federal Road Safety Commission spokesman in Yobe State, Mr Yusuf Sani, said the church members were said to be coming back from a church programme in Lagos when the accident happened

"All the 19 members of Redeemed Christian Church of God who were traveling in one bus were burnt beyond recognition as the bus caught fire on collision with the other two vehicles which also burst in flames shortly afterwards,” said Yusuf Sani

President Jonathan this morning ordered three employment slots be left open for the families of those who died during the Saturday recruitment exercise conducted by the Nigerian Immigration Service.

The president also directed that immediate employment be offered to injured victims who are still receiving treatment in various hospitals across the nation.

Disclosing this after the Federal Executive Council meeting that held yesterday morning, Minister of Information Labaran Maku said President Jonathan directed that one of the three beneficiaries must be female. Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze popularly known as Aki who got conferred with the MFR title by President Jonathan in July 2010 says the national title does not come with any visible benefits to him. Aki in a chat with Yes! magazine this week said there is no monetary value or special benefits to the title as obtained in western countries.

"The only joy in it is the recognition. When I am traveling and I get to the Airport, I get special preference and recognition. Apart from that, I don't get any other thing. I don't get paid, I don't get any special benefits as an MFR. As an MFR, I hold the same position with some of those who are Members of the British Empire (MBE) and they have some special benefits in the international community and honourary recognitions but those things are not here" he said.

In a recent interview with the NETng, Kuchi Kuchi crooner, Jodie Odiete says she has never had any sexual experience. Jodie was asked what her take was on sexual relationships and she said;

"Personally to me it is wrong because I am not married. I am not condemning those who do it, this is just my personal opinion. I really should not have an opinion on sex because I don't have any experience. Sex means nothing to me so I can't get into any relationship just because of that"

About her dream man, Jodie said;

Suspected Fulani herdsmen yesterday killed 35 persons and burnt property worth millions of naira in an attack on Ikyo, Catholic Church, Agwaza, Kokonbo, Azer, Lijam, Akesa, Tyow Doshima, Tse Saka and Kwaghlando districts in Takum local government area of Taraba State.

A resident of one of the villages, Hon Peter Kaaov told newsmen on Sunday that the armed men identified to be Fulani headsmen numbering over 70 invaded the villages at about 2pm.

Kaaov, who said he fled with his newly wedded wife to Takum town, further said that over 16 persons were killed by the gunmen in other sorrounding villages while several others sustained various degrees of injuries.
